My goodness where do I start. We had an absolute blast this year. Finally James was off work and was able to go with us which made the day even better.
Honestly every year we usually do more than just Halloween day. We started the Wednesday before with our first Fall Festival.
The kids enjoyed a trunk or treat, hay rides, horse and buggy rides, bouncy houses, exploring on a fire truck, hot dogs and hamburgers, cake walk, face painting, balloon animals, making their own caramel or chocolate covered apples, and lastly the boys got to ride a horse (Santana shied away). It was a great way to start off the Halloween fun. That Saturday we went to yet another Fall Fest and this time we all dressed for the occasion.
The kids again got to enjoy bouncy houses, horse rides, hay rides, cake walks and games. This time the church had hot dogs, fresh cotton candy, popcorn and lots of other treats. The kids had fun but at this fest I believe I had the most fun. Not only was my costume a hit but I was also the winner of the "guess the candy corns in the jar"
I was tickled to be the winner of the gift card :) YAY ME..lol. Finally Wednesday was finally here and it was time to get ready. My oldest had Wrestling practice so when the other two got home we got ready to go to our final fall fest. My ex went to pick Vinny up and met us at the church.
I have to admit Halloween night the kids had fun running house to house Trick or Treating but I believe James and I had more fun just acting like kids and getting in character. We finally got home a little after 10 and boy did the kids bring in more candy than needed.
But whats more fun than trick or treating on Halloween.......
Raiding the candy once the kiddies are tuckered out and sleeping soundly in bed.
Hope everyone else had a great and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
This weekend we had so much fun carving our pumpkins for Halloween.
Every year we take the kids to pick out one pumpkin each that they get to clean out themselves and then go online to pick out the faces they want me to carve
for them. It won't be to much longer
before I pass over the tool and let them carve their own pumpkins but for the time being I enjoy doing that part.
Pumpkin carving is so much simpler when you have a pumpkin carving kit.
This is what I purchased last year.
It's a neat little kit and it also comes
with stencils to use. I don't know if other
kits are build as durable as this one but
I was actually able to use it last year and
almost finished my project this year. I
will be buying a new set next season
because both my little carving tools not
only bent but the smallest ones blade
broke off.
The kids choose to go online to find stencils for their pumpkins. There are many different free sites that can be used or if you want something with a lot of detail they have sites where you pay for the ability to print your stencil. Also you can just search "Pumpkin carving stencils or templates" on your favorite search engine and you'll find many more printables.
Here are some wonderful sites that have some sweet stencils.
I don't know about you But I get so anxious this time of year. I absolutely LOVE the fair.
Yummy funnel cakes
Sausage with peppers and onions
carni stands full of teeth rotting sweets
Caramel Apples
Nachos drowned in cheese
and who can forget the Fried oreos
It's not only the rides that draws this family. We love the super greasy sugar filled extremely unhealthy carni food.
It's sad that a family of 5 has to pay $30 just to get in the gates. Nothing is free so I don't understand why admission can not be free. I mean really. We paid $50 just to ride the rides after the admission fee. It's terrible the price you must pay for a family to have fun. Anyhoo
$30 Fair admission,
$40 Sweet greasy goodness
$50 for tickets to ride the rides
Seeing the sheer terror in your little ones faces while they scream their heads off while riding the big rides for the first time PRICELESS!!!!!
her first time on the swings
same for nick
got her eye closed tight
riding the enterprise
enterprise- James and Santana are in the car above me
Can you tell who has the queasy belly
getting ready to ride the scariest ride there the cyclopes
getting ready to ride the X-factor
Jumping of the X-factor
Last ride of the night
The whole night was filled with great family fun and the kids had a blast.
you know you had a great time when this is the ride home
Hope to do it again in a couple weeks in Greensboro at a bigger better fair.
